I have been providing mental health treatment to an ethnically and socially diverse group of patients for over fifteen years. After completing coursework for my M.S. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University (Fort Lauderdale , FL ), I moved to Washington, DC to complete a predoctoral internship at the DC Commission on Mental Health Services.
The majority of my pre-license clinical hours were completed at George Washington University Medical Center and at Washington Assessment & Therapy Services. I received my Clinical Psychology license in Washington, DC in April 2002 and previously maintained an active license in Virginia from July 1999 to June 2006.
For over six years, I worked as a staff psychologist at Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute, a state hospital, where I provided psychological services, including individual and group psychotherapy to individuals suffering from some of life's most destructive mental disorders.
I believe that my ability to comfort the most severely mentally ill has greatly contributed to my ability to support and facilitate change among a higher functioning clientele. I have been providing psychotherapy to adults in my own private practice since Fall 2003 and I currently work part-time at the Washington, DC Veterans Administration Medical Center.
